Jim Bennett, Camden resident and sailor, will give a talk on Sunday, October 14 at 330 pm at the Rockland Yacht Club (Harbor Park, Rockland) on his 2018 adventures sailing from Ushuaia, Argentina, down the Beagle Channel past Cape Horn to Antartica and a later trip from the Falkland Islands to Capetown, South Africa. The talk will discuss his choice of sailing vessels—the first trip was on the Spirit of Sydney (an ex-BOC racer) and the second was on Skip Novak’s Pelagic Australis—as well as conditions on the Drake Passage and Southern Ocean. Jim’s talk will also feature shots from the Antarctic peninsula as well as the wildlife seen. A donation of $10 is suggested. Free to RYC members. For more information contact Val Bemis at sailobsession@gmail.com

A casual BYOB social hour will be held afterwards. Snacks will be provided. Hope to see you there!
