Think You Know It All About Sailboat Racing?
or, Know You Know Nothing and Are Considering Racing This Year?
Don’t miss out on this free sailboat racing clinic, with Peter Clapp, rules expert and lifelong sailboat racer, on May 13, 2017 at 4 pm at the Rockland Yacht Club Clubhouse. This will be an interactive discussion that will follow the audience’s needs, but will also cover:
—basic situations in racing, including rules at the start, rules at mark roundings, and basic right-of-way situations.
—additional overview of the most important rules changes for the 2017-2020 seasons (based on the rulings from the last olympics).
This is suited for beginners as well as anyone who has raced before and is looking for a brush up or answers to all those pesky little situational questions that stop you from winning.
Peter Clapp has been a lifelong catboat racer and sailor. He began sailing in a Beetle Cat and now races on a Marshall 15-foot Sandpiper. He is the Race Director at the CYC, has been the race committee for the Laser Frostbite Fleet in Thomaston, and has also been the Primary Race Officer for several junior olympic regattas, from Cape Cod to Penobscot Bay.
